HERMESensemble
has a unique home at Kanaal
HERMESensemble was founded in 2000 by artistic director Koen Kessels. This talented collective of musicians operates within the borders of contemporary music and art, through experimentation and encounter. Supported, in part by the Flemish government, HEREMESensemble can be seen and heard at Belgian festivals
and venues and throughout Europe.
At Kanaal, they’ve created a music production studio that doubles as a rehearsal space and venue for intimate concerts and performances.

On your path from your sites reception towards the water of Kanaal you will find “Comilfoo - Hair & Colour Studio” at the ground floor of one of the Cubes.

Along the site’s perimeter is a large restoration workshop, which is part of the Axel Vervoordt Company, and home to a team of expert woodworkers and craftsmen. The workshop’s setting forms a border between the logistics access for companies operationg on site with the nearby neighbors.

The Axel Vervoordt Company has it’s global headquarters at Kanaal.
Sharing the environment with residents, businesses, and visitors, the company added workshops, studios, an auditorium, as well as permanent art installations and temporary exhibition spaces for the Axel Vervoordt Gallery.
